Karen has over three decades of experience in the health care industry. Prior to becoming chief executive officer in February 2021, Karen was executive vice president of CVS Health and president of Aetna®, where she was responsible for delivering consumer-centric, holistic health care to the millions of people Aetna serves.
Karen has been named to Fortune’s list of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” the past six years, including the top ranking in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, Fortune named Karen the Most Inspirational CEO. She was included on the Bloomberg 50 list of people who have changed global business and Forbes’ inaugural “50 Over 50” list. She has received many other awards and recognition for her achievements in health and business.
JULIE SWEET
Julie Sweet is chair and chief executive officer of Accenture. She became CEO in September 2019 and assumed the additional position of chair in September 2021. Previously, she served as chief executive officer of Accenture's business in North America, the company's largest geographic market. Prior to that, she was Accenture's general counsel, secretary, and chief compliance officer for five years. Before joining Accenture in 2010, Julie was a partner for 10 years in the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.
Julie serves on the World Economic Forum Board of Trustees. Additionally, Julie is board chair of Catalyst and serves on the board of trustees for the Center for Strategic & International Studies and for the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities – Bridges from School to Work.
JANE FRASER
Jane Fraser is the Chief Executive Officer of Citi, the world's most global bank, which serves millions of consumers, businesses and institutions across 160 countries and jurisdictions. She is the first female CEO in the firm’s history.
Since becoming CEO in March 2021, Jane has launched a multi-year strategy to increase Citi’s profitability and better position the firm for the speed and complexities of the digital age. This effort includes the transformation of Citi’s risk and control environment by modernizing infrastructure, striving for operational excellence and investing in Citi’s culture. Jane is committed to making Citi the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs, a global leader in wealth management and a valued personal bank in its home market of the U.S.
Jane serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Roundtable and the Council on Foreign Relations. She is Vice Chair of the Partnership for New York City and a member of Harvard Business School’s Board of Dean’s Advisors, the Stanford Global Advisory Board and the Economic Club of New York. Jane has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an M.A. in economics from Cambridge University. She is married with two children.
MARY BARRA
Mary Barra is Chair and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors. She was elected Chair of the GM Board of Directors on Jan. 4, 2016 and has served as CEO of GM since Jan. 15, 2014. Under Barra’s leadership, GM envisions a world with zero crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity – time.
She is focused on improving the customer experience and strengthening GM’s core vehicle and services business, while also working to lead the transformation of personal mobility through advanced technologies like connectivity, electrification and autonomous driving.
Barra began her career with GM in 1980 as a General Motors Institute (Kettering University) co-op student at the Pontiac Motor Division. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1985, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1990.
Barra is Chair of the Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers of America’s leading companies. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company, the Duke University Board of Trustees and the Detroit Economic Club. Additionally, she serves as the Chair and founding member of GM’s Inclusion Advisory Board.
JESSICA TAN
Tan first joined the Chinese finance insurance giant in 2013 as group CIO; she became the group's co-CEO in 2018. Based in Shenzhen, Ping An is Asia's largest insurance groups. It sold $110 billion worth of insurance premiums in 2021.
Before joining Ping An, Tan was a partner at McKinsey, and she has bachelor's and masters's degrees in engineering from MIT.
Tan sees Ping An as more of a tech firm than financial services: "We have over twenty thousand patents right now," she said in September 2019.
CAROL TOMÉ
Carol B. Tomé is the Chief Executive Officer of UPS. She is the 12th CEO in the 115-year history of the company.
Before joining UPS, Carol served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Home Depot, Inc., one of the world’s largest retailers. She joined the company in 1995 as Vice President and Treasurer.
Carol serves as board member for Verizon Communications, Inc. and is a board trustee for Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. She is also a member of The Committee of 200, The Buckhead Coalition, The Business Council and the International Business Council of The World Economic Forum.
A native of Jackson, Wyoming, Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Denver.
ROSALIND BREWER
Rosalind (Roz) Brewer joined Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer in March 2021. She also is a Director on WBA’s Board. Ms. Brewer most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and Group President at Starbucks from October 2017 to January 2021. Prior to Starbucks, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sam’s Club, a membership-only retail warehouse club and division of Walmart, Inc., from February 2012 to February 2017. Ms. Brewer previously held several executive leadership positions with Walmart beginning in 2006.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the board of trustees for Spelman College, where she did her undergraduate work. Ms. Brewer also is a Board Member of VillageMD, World Business Chicago, Business Roundtable and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture. Ms. Brewer formerly served on the board of directors for Starbucks, Amazon, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Molson Coors Brewing Company. She is currently ranked #7 on Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and was named one of the 25 most influential women by the Financial Times in 2021.
EMMA WALMSLEY
Emma has been GSK CEO and Board Director since April 2017. Emma has been a member of the GSK Leadership Team since 2011, as the President and then CEO of GSK Consumer Healthcare. She chaired the Consumer Joint Venture with Pfizer until its demerger as Haleon in 2022. Prior to joining GSK in 2010, Emma worked with L’Oreal for 17 years in global and local marketing and general management roles in Paris, London, New York and Shanghai. Emma joined the Microsoft board as an independent director in 2019. She is a member of the Stanford Medicine Board of Fellows and a member of The Business Council Executive Committee in the US. She was previously a Non-Executive Director of Diageo.
Emma was appointed Dame Commander of the British Empire for services to the pharmaceutical industry and business in 2020.
Emma holds an MA in Classics and Modern Languages from Oxford University.
GAIL BOUDREAUX
Gail Boudreaux serves as president and chief executive officer at Elevance Health, where she leads the company in improving lives and communities, simplifying healthcare, and building trust with customers. Regarded for her ability to skillfully scale multi-billion-dollar businesses, Boudreaux leverages her more than three decades of healthcare industry experience to helm one of America’s largest health companies.Boudreaux was named CEO of Anthem, now known as Elevance Health, in 2017. She was previously CEO of UnitedHealthcare, the largest division within UnitedHealth Group.
It's one of the nation's largest health insurers and has completed acquisitions of America's 1st Choice, HealthSun and Aspire Health.
The Elevance Health Foundation Awards announced over $53 million in grants to address critical health issues facing Americans.
With her industry experience, she has earned plaudits from peers and Wall Street alike; in the first two years of her tenure, the stock popped 20%.
ABIGAIL JOHNSON
Abigail Johnson has served as CEO of Fidelity Investments since 2014, when she took over for her father, and has been chairman since 2016. Her grandfather, Edward Johnson II, founded the Boston-based mutual fund giant in 1946. She owns an estimated 24.5% stake of the firm, which has $3.7 trillion in managed assets.
Johnson has embraced cryptocurrencies and, in 2018, Fidelity launched a platform that allows institutional investors to trade bitcoin and ether. She worked summers at Fidelity through college and joined full-time as an analyst in 1988 after receiving a Harvard M.B.A.
